Frequently asked questions
Search engine optimization (SEO) refers to measures to increase the visibility of a website for users of web search engines. Optimization refers to the improvement of unpaid results in organic search engine rankings (organic rankings).
Search engine optimization is part of search engine marketing.
Users search online: SEO is important because almost everyone uses search engines. According to a study, 25.2 million German speakers in Germany will use the internet to search for information every day in 2021, and a further 21.3 million will do so several times a week.
A total of 50 million people in Germany (out of around 80 million) use a search engine at least once a week.
If your site cannot be found among the top rankings on Google, you are missing out on an enormous number of potential customers who are already actively searching for your product or service.
Because it works in the long term and sustainably, because…
Almost 70% of online experiences start with a search engine.
Only 0.78% of users click on the second Google results page.
More than 50% of website traffic is generated via organic search.
Potential customers find you – SEO leads have a closing rate of almost 15%.
To understand how SEO works, it is helpful to first understand how Google works.
Googlebot, a program developed by Google engineers, “eats” websites and follows every link it finds (Googlebot = “crawler”). In doing so, it adds these pages to Google’s “index” and thus creates a huge database of stored URLs.
If you enter your search query into Google and press the Enter key, Google calculates live search results lists and tries to match the user’s search intention as closely as possible. Google shows the best individual results.
Google uses a very complex algorithm comprising over 200 factors to determine which pages rank in which position for a term.
The most important factors are roughly divided into the following areas: Onpage/Onsite and Offpage.
Why SEO and web design are inseparable
The relationship between SEO and web design can be summarized in one sentence: SEO measures enable visitors to find your website independently via Google search, and good web design ensures that visitors stay there. The circle is complete, because good web design has a positive effect on SEO.
A poor or outdated design can easily cause visitors to lose trust in your website and prefer another website that is more convincing for the information they are looking for.
Nevertheless, their expertise is completely different. If you have a website created by a designer, it may look good. The SEO optimization of a website that has already been created takes about the same amount of time. We create your site directly optimized for search engines, which saves about 30% of the effort and thus the costs.
This question can be equated with the question “How much does a car cost?”. It depends….
SEO is not cheap but absolutely cost-effective, provided you have a good partner at your side.
Many SEO experts struggle with the fact that clients want to see direct results and concrete figures as KPIs in the contracts, naturally up to a fixed date.
If you receive such a promise (exceptions are rare but possible), reject it! Why?
Every day, we SEO experts work with and against an artificial intelligence that even the people who created it no longer understand. We do not work with monetary means in organic search. There is no manual for our success. Trial and error – that’s what we do, to the best of our knowledge and belief. Based on strategies, experience and exchange. Our strategies are just as individual as the Google search result pages (SERPs).
A fixed promise for defined rankings at time X is therefore gambling or certainly achievable through the use of paid ads (target is achieved on day X) or “blackhat SEO” (blackhat SEO means deliberately violating Google’s guidelines in order to achieve better rankings, which is only effective in the short term and can also result in complete exclusion from the SERPs).
In order to provide an insight, let’s proceed roughly:
- Website analysis / status quo
- Implementation of initial optimization
- Keyword research
- Competitive analysis
- Keyword analysis
- Keyword definition
- Development of website structure plan / concept
- OnPage/OnSite optimizations
- Conception of content expansion / strategy if necessary
- Content production if necessary
Let’s come back to the car question – what is your expectation, your destination and how quickly do you want to get there? Based on this, we will be happy to prepare an individual offer.
Your visibility is no coincidence - it is optimization.
We support you personally and strategically – from analysis to sustainable implementation.
